MILLICENT LAI / Graphics-Products-Lifestyle-Interiors
Millicent earned her BA(Hons.) in Graphic Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1995. After working as a graphic designer for various luxury hotel and restaurant projects for 5 years, she joined luxury fashion/lifestyle brand Shanghai Tang in 2001. Her role as Chief Designer of Home showcases her multiple talents for creating, designing and developing products across a wide array of categories and disciplines. These include: tableware, glassware, home accessories, stationery, gifts, bedding and fragrances.
In her time with Shanghai Tang (2001-2011), Millicent has overseen the Home products section for over 43 Shanghai Tang stores worldwide. Millicent was instrumental in the interior and furniture design of an F&B outlet, the first Shanghai Tang Café in Xintiandi, Shanghai (2010), and the design of the first-ever Shanghai Tang for Nespresso Dragon Collection (2012).
In 2010, she was honoured with one of the prestigious 40 under 40 designers awards.
Millicent found her own creative consultancy company Millicent Lai Design Limited since early 2012 to further pursue projects in graphics, branding, and products designs with prestigious brands such as Tumi, Ikea, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, InterContinental Hong Kong, and The Peninsula Hong Kong etc.
